Sarah received her BFA in Dance from Wittenberg
University in 2000. During college, she performed with and
choreographed for the Wittenberg University Dance Company,
choreographed and directed A Journey Through Dance, and
participated in OhioDance and American College Dance Festivals.
Prior to her college training, Sarah studied ballet at the
University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and performed
leading roles in Damn Yankees and Carousel with Lakota
High School and in Dead Serious About Life with Mishpachah,
Inc.
From 2003-2005, Sarah lived
in Ann Arbor, Michigan. During that time, Sarah
performed with Fueled & Aflame – a contemporary Christian dance
company – and studied at CAS Ballet Theatre School and The Community
School of Ballet. She taught regular and master classes for
Arts in Motion, Dance Arts of Chelsea, Dexter School of Dance,
Fueled & Aflame Dance Company, and Youth Dance Theatre of Michigan.
She also attended and performed at the Ad Deum Summer Dance
Intensive in Houston, TX and at Project Dance in New York City, NY.
Her choreography won a top award at the Dupree Dance Regional Expo
in Detroit, MI. In 2005,
Sarah returned to
Cincinnati and
Mason
Dance
Center.
She teaches ballet, lyrical, and pre-dance combination classes for
the studio. She also works with the MDC competition teams and
soloists. Her students received Platinum and Gold awards at several
competitions in 2006. In addition to teaching at
Mason
Dance
Center, Sarah
is the Artistic Director of a Christian dance ministry – Guidance
Dance Company.
Sarah is on hiatus from
MDC while her husband is working temporarily in Minnesota. We
hope to have her back in the Cincinnati area and back on staff soon.
