Penny Smith has a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Early
Childhood Education and Religion from Ohio Christian University.
She graduated Salutatorian in 2008. She is currently attending
Wilmington College, studying to meet the requirements for her
Teacher's License from the Ohio Dept of Education. She will
Student Teach in the Spring of 2009.
Penny's initial training in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-hop
and Acrobatics at Dance Etc. led to a lifetime love of dance and
performance. In high school, she was the President of West
Clermont Dance Company, held lead roles in musicals and drama
productions and was a member of Counterpoint Show Choir. In
addition, she was active in the Dance/Drama ministry, Bloodline, at
her church. She was the Director/Coordinator of Absolute Dance
Stars, a studio in Circleville, Ohio for three years. This
involved several productions including end of the year recitals,
Christmas programs and various community activities such as parades,
etc. She also began a new dance ministry called Freedom Force
at a local church.
Presently, Penny teaches tumbling, trampoline and recreational
gymnastics at Gymnastics Central in Batavia. She is also a
Supervisor at Kohl's department stores. Penny has a passion
for education children and a love for the Performing Arts. She
is excited for the opportunity to teach at Mason Dance Center! |
