Company dancers

The Mason Dance Center Company Dancers; All~Stars, Super~Stars, Shooting~Stars and Rising~Stars, are students who are enthusiastic and committed to learning to dance in a professional environment and who want to perform and compete beyond the annual recital. Of course dance technique and performance quality will factor heavily into placement but our approximate age groupings are-

• Rising~Stars- 4th to 8th grade

• Shooting~Stars- 5th to 9th grade

• Super~Stars- 6th to 10th grade

• All~Stars- 9th grade and above 

Our Company Dancers must have a good attendance record, be enrolled in ballet class in addition to other dance forms and show a willingness to work hard to improve their technique. They must be devoted to making dance a priority in their lives.  They must also be willing to participate in fundraisers or extra commitments and costs and have the full support of their parents or legal guardians.

Auditions are held in late May/early June each year.  Prior to auditioning we recommend that students are taking at least 3 classes per week; preferably jazz, tap and ballet. With a minimum time commitment of 5 hrs of dancing per week for even our Jr. Company, the jump to that from only 1 class per week can be overwhelming. 

Company parents are asked to participate in the MDC Parents Association.  This parents group holds monthly meetings to plan fundraisers and to promote camaraderie and team spirit.  As a Company parent, we also welcome you to join our private Company website to stay informed on all that the Company is doing.
